English Learning Support Assistant

Today more and more children are reading well below their reading… With our fast-paced ever-changing world this issue is unlikely to improve on its own.

We have partnered with a fantastic secondary school in Middlesbrough that's committed to ensuring each student can succeed.

Through this role, you'll be working closely with students on a small group basis, providing them with the support they need to improve their reading. You'll also have the opportunity to support within the English lessons providing you with a diverse classroom experience.

Having a love for reading is a must, as you'll be opening up student's minds to the enjoyment reading can bring! Your encouragement will support each student in feeling more confident whilst reading which will not support them in their lessons, but this will take them through life!

Work within a dedicated and inclusive team which will support you throughout your role so you can also learn new things and develop as a person.

What To Expect From This Role:

  • A highly rewarding role providing students with the English and reading skills they need to take them through life
  • Full-time: Monday – Friday (35-hour working week)
  • £451.65 per week (term time only)

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hold a completed bachelor's degree (ideally in English)
  • Passionate about supporting students with their learning and a strong love for reading
  • Enthusiasm to learn new things and develop
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak in an engaging and professional manner
  • Able to build strong supportive relationships with others
  • Adaptable, attentive and inclusive
