This SEMH/SEN Teaching Assistant role will allow you to gain invaluable experience supporting children who have additional needs. Through this role, you'll be working in a fantastic secondary school in Hartlepool that prides itself on offering its students a holistic approach to education.

We are all about giving you the experience and support you need so throughout this role you'll have support from our highly praised pre-teacher training programme whose mission is to support graduates who have a passion for working with children. Not only that you'll be supported by experienced members of staff in the school so you can learn new things and develop your skills while helping others.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will be making an impact to the lives of students who have social-emotional mental health needs (SEMH) and special education needs (SEN). You'll be working closely with students on a small group and one-to-one basis as well as working alongside teachers and other professionals to ensure student's needs are met.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2:2 (Psychology or related subject)
  • Experience working with individuals who have SEN and SEMH needs (preferred but not essential)
  • A confident, personable individual with a genuine passion for supporting children
  • An empathetic, adaptable and understanding individual who's able to build strong trusting relationships
  • Inspiring individual who's able to encourage and motivate children
  • Good listener with great problem-solving skills
