SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant

We have partnered with a fantastic primary school in Middlesbrough, this school is passionate about promoting mental health and wellbeing for its students and staff. Develop your skills within this role as this school is keen to provide you with the tools and support you need to thrive.

This school has a number of students who have high, complex needs and are looking for support mostly with their early years and key stage 1 students. Many of these students have physical and social-emotional mental health (SEMH) needs and will need your support in the classroom to achieve their goals.

As an SEMH/SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be working with a specialist team to ensure these students' needs are met so they can flourish academically and have a positive school experience.

Throughout this role, you'll have support from the school and our pre-teacher training programme to support you in gaining the best experience which will aid you in becoming a successful teacher in the future.

  • Full-time Monday – Friday (35 hour working week)
  • £451.65 per week (term time only)

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hold a completed bachelor's degree (minimum 2:2)
  • Eager to learn new things and help others
  • Comfortable with providing SEMH support as well as personal care
  • Able to build positive relationships with people from a range of backgrounds
  • An empathetic individual with a 'can do' mindset
  • Have a good knowledge or experience in working with children who have SEN/SEMH needs (preferred)
